Things can get messy quickly.
A page and then some this morning, while Lillian took a long nap. The dialogue continues, revealing unexpected, but perhaps not entirely surprising, cracks in the unified team front. I feel bad, actually, and have to consciously avoid manipulating the conversation to be more pleasant and unified.
I don’t like it when friends don’t get along, and it’s hard to watch it happen, especially when I supposedly have control over it, but it makes sense, depressing as that is. I am already revising my expectations of the ending of this book (and the implications for future ones), but as quickly as things can go south, life is full of underdog moments, too.
