Dear Internet, Computer and Television:

I know we spend a lot of time together (well more than I spend with my family in any given week, thanks to my day job), but you can never replace this:

or this:

 Precious Foot

and certainly never this:

Precious Smile

Now, I’m not breaking up with any of you. In fact, you’re the reason I have a day job and can pay the bills (well, maybe not you, Television). And you’re all capable of some truly amazing things and you’ve become critical to my writing life and some of the wonderful things happening there, all of which I’m extremely very grateful for.

But when we lost power this morning, I was reminded that though you can show me those things up there, you cannot replace them.

Not even close.

  1. Though it meant a delay in baking those cookies, losing power was my favorite part of the day ;)

    • Jany, thanks so much! I am blessed many times over, and very grateful. And, if I’m not mistaken, you have made your own lovely life and happy family. Congratulations (belated as they may be)! Thanks again for the kind words. I’m not sure I deserved them back then, but I’m doing my best to catch up, now :)

  2. You couldn’t have said it better! Family, one of the most precious things in life. Good luck with the newest writings!

    • Thanks, Jodie :) That’s exactly right, and it’s good to get a smack in the forehead from time to time to make sure I don’t forget it!
