No Good Deed freebie winding down; Time to get back to work
As I type this, there are just over 3 hours left on the No Good Deed free promotion (http://amzn.to/N1ukFm*) and I though I said it before, I will gladly say it again: Thank you.
This experience has given me hope that I’m on the right track. The proof of this, of course, is in the days and weeks and months to come: Did the people who downloaded the book read it? Did they like it? Did they tell their friends?
None of which I have any control over, a fact my wife patiently and wisely reminded me of, reminding me why, exactly, I was doing this in the first place.
My goal is to write. Checking Amazon ranks and trying to spam inboxes** with pleas to buy my book are NOT writing. The landscape has changed and these things are certainly not unimportant to an indie author***, but the real question is not whether I can convince people to read my books, but whether I can write something they will want to read.
So, again, thank you to everyone who downloaded a copy of NGD***, as well as to those who helped spread the news of the promotion. I am more grateful than these clunky words can express.
Now, though, it’s time to get back to the writing.
* Yes, another link. Sue me.
** My apologies for these blundering first attempts at self-promotion.
*** Like the NGD blog tour coming in July (Sorry. See previous footnote.)
**** And to those amazing speed-readers who also bought a copy of Hell Hath No Fury!
