When other scenes interrupt

I only got in about 15 minutes tonight, standing in the kitchen waiting for Lillian to wake up, but I raced through a full page in that time, which was quite a surprise.

The only trouble is, it had nothing to do with the current scene I’m writing, and probably not any scene in this book. It’s still Kelly and Co., but entirely outside anything I’ve got on tap.* It feels like part of a short story or novella outside the main series, which is quite intriguing.

Because I don’t have enough to do, right?

Oh, my apologies for yesterday’s wallowing post. Just thinking about it is embarrassing.

* Please ignore the horribly mixed and mangled metaphor. It’s late and I’m tired.
